JALSA
WHY CULTURAL PROGRAMME
Mahavir International Secunderabad has traditionally hosted a cultural event every year since 2018. Through these events we achieve various objectives of ours.
1. It serves as a medium of raising funds for our activities.
2. It increases our visibility and reach and makes people aware of the activities of the organization.
3. These cultural events also allow us to celebrate our traditions and provide wholesome entertainment to families in a safe and secure environment.
Since 2019, we have been regularly hosting an event called “Jalsa…The Dandiya Raas” which is a pre-navratri Dandiya and Garba fest. This is a single day event where we are host to more than 2000 people who are provided wholesome entertainment and free food at a very reasonable price.
We continue to be innovative and look at brining in new artistes from outside Hyderabad and also to give the sponsors mileage for their products.
We actively scout for sponsors and advertise widely through social media, radio and the print media. Brochures of our activities are distributed and the sponsors and the audience gets to know about the activities of our centre. We commit to raising all the funds raised through this activity only for our service activities and over the past few years have managed to establish a dental clinic, develop the infrastructure at a school and also launched our e-learn initiative Saksham for training children in the use of computers.
Jalsa today has become a brand in the Navratri circuit in Hyderabad and people are aware that we will provide them delicious food and wholesome entertainment. The audience and the sponsors also appreciate that the funds are being used for service.
This event wasn’t just a celebration of Navratri but an innovative platform where renowned artists beyond Hyderabad enlivened the stage, providing wholesome family entertainment. It also offered sponsors excellent mileage for their products. Funds raised from the event went directly to our service activities, cementing our commitment to community welfare. The highlight of that year was the establishment of a new dental clinic, all thanks to the supporters of Jalsa.
The event saw participation from thousands of people, who enjoyed the cultural extravaganza and contributed to the cause. In this manner, Jalsa has become more than an event; it’s a brand synonymous with community service, cultural heritage, and most importantly, unity in the vibrant city of Hyderabad.
